Kerry Home
Care have produced this page to help guide
you to the funding which you may be able to
apply for in order to help with the costs of
a Kerry Home Care Live in Care & Support
solution.
Charges for
Live in Care & Support are quite comparable
to those which nursing homes charge ,
however the bespoke, tailor made , one to
one service which Live in Care provides far
supersedes those of a residential group care
setting.
There are
several applications for funding which you
can go through and apply for if you meet the
criteria and depending on the service you
are looking to fund. |

Tax Relief for home
care costs
At present, it
is possible to claim back the taxable
allowance for the costs incurred for care
services by the person who pays for them.
The rate of relief depends on your marginal
rate of tax, 20% or 41%.
The amount of
relief which is provided is the costs
incurred by the person who pays for the care
less any other amounts received from the
state.

information and to find out how to apply,

information and application form. |

Home Care Support
Scheme
This scheme is
operated by the Health Service Executive (
HSE) and can be sometimes referred as The
Home Care Support Package.
At present
there are no guidelines or acceptance
criteria for the
Home Care Support Package, although the
HSE are working on a set of standardised
guidelines currently. The scheme is also
available in certain parts of Ireland, so
first off you should check with your local
Health Office. However, in some parts of
Ireland the general rule is if someone
requires more than 10 hours of home care
each week, then they can apply for this
scheme.
Services are
usually provided for by the HSE, although
you may be able to receive the payments
directly to you which then can be used
towards your home care costs. As an
assessment is completed and the proposal of
care is often tailor made, the amount of the
award can vary , but typically amounts are
between €350 to €500 per week.
To find out
more information and how to apply contact
your local
Heath Office. |
